Contract Version Comparison

Supported File Formats
DOCX — Recommended
Microsoft Word documents are processed in full: text, tables, structure, and tracked changes. This is the ideal format for contract analysis.
PDF with Text Layer
PDFs work if they contain a text layer — meaning you can select and copy text with your mouse. Most PDFs exported from Word or Google Docs qualify.
TXT — Plain Text
Plain text files work but lose formatting and document structure. Suitable for quick checks; results are less detailed than DOCX or PDF analysis.
Scanned PDFs Are Not Supported
If your PDF is a scanned image without a text layer, Contract Review cannot process it. OCR (optical character recognition) is not available in the current version. To check: open your PDF and try selecting text with your mouse. If text highlights and copies — it works. If the cursor draws a selection box and nothing highlights — it is a scan.
